I am a PhD Fellow at the University of Copenhagen where I am writing my dissertation on Media, Islam and Identity in Tunisia, 2000 - 2011 as part of The New Islamic Public Sphere Programme.

I have followed Tunisia closely since 1995 and have participated in several international conferences with papers on Tunisia. After the uprisings in 2011 I have been external consultant to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and appeared on Danish and international TV and radio stations with various analysis of the political and social events taking place.

Click on "Publications" in the menu to see the list of my publications on the new private media in Tunisia, the opposition and the victory of Ennahda in the October 2011 election.

I hold a MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Copenhagen and have taught a wide range of classes within political science and Islam for several years at the Centre for Contemporary Middle East Studies, University of Southern Denmark.
